Baby Dedication

STEP ONE

UNDERSTAND

 Dedication is a celebration that recognizes your child is a gift from God and makes public the church’s commitment to your family and your family’s commitment to the church. It is not a ceremony that brings salvation to your child nor is it a substitute for believers baptism.

In this video Pastor Cody will answer some of the questions you might have about Dedication: What it is, what it isn’t, and what it means to your family.  

STEP two

A baby dedication is not just about the baby. It is about the entire family. Standing in a church and celebrating the gift of your child is the first step, but following Christ and seeking His wisdom in the rearing of your child is the journey.

In this video Pastor Doyle gives his insight on what it means to commit to raise your child to follow the Lord and shares some much-needed words of wisdom and encouragement for you on your parenting journey.

STEP three

bless

Dedication is a time to begin to bless your child with your words, thought and actions. Every child is unique and has been designed by God with different gifts and abilities.  Praying a prayer of blessing, favor, and peace over your child’s life each day can bring comfort, reassurance and hope to your child’s heart.    

Pastor Matt will walk you through one of the most special parts of dedications at SCG: learning how to bless your child.  It is our hope that blessing your child and praying with and for them will become part of your daily routine as you seek God’s best for their life.

REGISTER

Dedicating your child is sure to be a day to remember.  We do dedications during each of our weekend services.  Come to our mandatory parents class the week before (details provided in the registration link below) and invite your family and friends to join you for the big day!
